Formby Parish Council would like to put forward recommendations to Sefton Highways to help alleviate the problems caused by excessive traffic on busy beach days.

We are engaging with residents to ask what measures you would find acceptable. These are some of the ideas that were explored at the Parish Council meeting in June.

1. To have a Traffic Order in place from May to September restricting parking on one side of the road. From Ward Avenue to Kirklake Road, St Luke’s Church Road, Bushby’s Lane, Queens Road back to Ward Avenue to allow traffic movement and provide a red route for emergency access.(Required)
2. To have a Traffic Order in place from May to September to provide a one-way system of traffic movement from Ward Avenue to Kirklake Road, St Luke’s Church Road, Bushby’s Lane, Queens Road back to Ward Avenue to enable traffic movement when vehicles are parked on both sides of the road.(Required)
3. Increase fines for illegal parking(Required)
