MINUTES OF MEETING

Present: Dave Irving (Vice Chairman), Derek Baxter, Sandra Baxter, Dawn Brodie, Jill Butler, Karen Cavanagh, Liz Mercer, Bernie Prescott, Carol Richards and Mike Weild.

In Attendance: Claire Jenkins (Clerk) and 0 Members of public

38.0 Apologies for Absence

There were apologies received from Cllrs Bennett, L Brodie, Duerdon, Haygarth and Y. Irving.

39.0 Members Declaration of Interest

39.1 There were no declarations of interest declared.

40.0 Public Forum

The meeting was adjourned for this item.

There were no members of the public in attendance.

41.0 Minutes of the Previous Meeting

41.1 Minutes of the Ordinary held on 17 July 2023

It was resolved that the minutes of the meeting held on 17 July 2023 were approved as a correct record and signed by the Vice Chairman.

42.0 Matters of Report from Previous Meeting

There were no matters of report.

43.0 Chairman’s Report

There was no Chairman’s report.

44.0 Planning Applications

44.1 Shorrocks Hill

It was noted that a response has been submitted to the Shorrocks Hill application.

44.2 82 Freshfield Road – the retrospective planning application was discussed, and members noted the pump house location which is near the neighbour’s window and is a noise nuisance. It was agreed to submit an objection.

44.3 Sixty Kitchen – hot food takeaway – application for change of use noted. Members noted that residents have complained about the style of the frontage and that this does not bring in any footfall to the village as it is an online business only. Cllr Irving will take advice from planning.

45.0 To discuss and approve the following.

45.1 To note the conclusion of audit for the year ended 31 March 2023.

Members noted the conclusion of the audit and noted that there were no matters brought to the Council’s attention.

45.2 To approve the draft response to the Boundary Commission review.

It was resolved to approve and submit the response to the Boundary Commission Review.

45.3 To note the date for the Christmas Switch on event as Thursday 23 November.

Members noted the date of the Christmas Switch on event.

46.0 Payments

  8. Watering of planters, JC Landscape and Horticulture – £3,720.00
  9. Domain renewal, Krystal Hosting Ltd – £96.00
  10. Anti-virus subscription, Bitdefender – £74.99
  11. Dog control order sign, ADMCreative.com – £216.00

Total – £7,051.19

It was resolved to make the payments as listed above.
