Colin Appleton

Colin joined Formby Parish Council in 2019 to 2023 and has become a co-opted member of the council in 2024.

Colin is a qualified Physicist & Mechanical Engineer having run his own company in Bootle before retirement.

Colin and his family have lived in Formby since 1974. His son & daughter attended St Peters primary school followed by Merchant Taylor’s.

Always interested in the voluntary sector, Colin was a founding partner in St Peters Cub, Brownie and Scout groups, heavily engaged in education as a member of Sefton’s TVEI committee, Chair of Hugh Baird College and Chair of Regenerus, the Social Enterprise unit based in Bootle.

Colin’s skills and experience base enables him to contribute broadly to the Parish Council work for the Formby Community.
